- Can
you help me register my domain name?
We don't register domain names, but we can walk/talk you through
the process of how to register a domain name with one of the Internet
domain name registers. We have found NameCheap.com and GoDaddy.com to be one of
the best values with extra features that other registers don't
come with at their low price. Since your contract for the domain
name is between you and the domain name register, you own the
domain name and have full control over the account.
- Can you help me setup
my account with a web hosting company?
We can talk you through the process of setting up an account
with one of the Internet web hosting companies. We have helped
setup accounts on Powweb.com, Ipowerweb.com and the free webhoster
TopCities.com. You will be the owner of the account with the webhosting
company.
- Who is responsible
for ensuring my domain name and web hosting fees get paid on time?
Since the contract between the web hosting company or domain
name register is between you and the respective company, you are
responsible for ensuring that all charges are paid on time. Domain
names can be obtained as low as $9 a year and web hosting for
$90 a year. We recommend you buy a least 2 years for your domain
name and pay for a years worth of hosting at one time.
- Can you move my site from my current web
hosting company to the new company?
If your current web hoster supports FTP access as well as
the new hosting company , we maybe able to move your current site to your
new new web hosting company. Depending on the number and sizes
of the files, the charge for this can vary from $30 to hundreds
of dollars.
- Can you set me up on a Free Web Hoster?
Yes, we can.
Please be aware most free web hosters have very strict file size,
types of files you can have, limited space and bandwidth allocations.
Customer service can be very limited and it is common for free
sites to just disappear or for them to delete your site without
notice.
Worse yet, you will probably not have control over the number
and type of ads that may be displayed to your potential client.
The worst case is when ADULT ads popup to your unsuspecting visitor.
Closing them usually results in several more ads popping up, each
becoming more graphical in nature than the last.
Is this the type of image you want branded in your potential customer's
memory?
Is it worth the risk of a potential sale or stud fee to save $2-$8
a month?
Web Design Questions
- How
long does it take before I can see some work?
It usually takes 1 week
from the time we have all of your specifications, requirements,
layouts, text and pictures needed to have the first prototype
page template. Once approved, the remaining pages usually are
completed within 1 business week. Online video pages average 1
day a piece to complete. Like any business, there are periods
of the year that are more busy than others. Express Service is
available at an extra charge during peak season. Express Service
puts your work at the head of the line, with most websites
being published within 1 business week. Please note, 50% of the
website estimated build charge must be received prior to any work
being done.
- What does the 30 minutes of free monthly
maintenance time in a monthly maintenance contract cover?
The monthly maintenance contract comes with 30 minutes of
monthly maintenance time for simple text edits and photo
swapouts. It is to be used for minor page changes such as : adding
new links to your links page, adding news updates, switching a
picture out, changing an address, phone number or answering questions concerning your website or simple website tech supportt.
It is not cumulative (use or lose it) and cannot be used to add
new pages or redesign current pages.
- My video has been professionally produced
and copyrighted can you copy it and put it on my site?
Not without permission from the copyright holder. You are
solely responsible for obtaining any needed releases for use and
resolving any dispute that may arise over the use of such material.
- My photographs are copyrighted by a photographer
can you use them?
Not without permission from the copyright holder. You are
solely responsible for obtaining any needed releases for use and
resolving any dispute that may arise over the use of such material.
- What do I need to do to get my video on
my website?
We can take your VHS, 8mm/Hi8 or MiniDV tape, DVD media, MPG,
MOV, and AVI formatted video files and convert them to Flash5.
Media should be sent to our address. If you desire the Media returned,
you will need to provide a self addressed stamped and insured
Mailer or other prepaid method to return the tape back to you.
We will not be held responsible for the return of any materials
that are not provided with this means in which to return them
to you.
If you live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area of Texas, US, we can
travel to your ranch and take digital movies and photographs.

Movies should not be over 1.5 MG in size or over 2 minute
in playing time. Additional limitations may apply with your web
hosting companies TOS.
- My current web hoster does not support video,
can you create a video ad that I can link to from my web site?
Yes, we can create a webpage with your video that you can
reference from your website. This is offered under our Video Ads
services. We will build the movie and page which can be seen under
the Video Ads section. We will provide you the html code needed
to link the page to your site.
- What do you need to get started on my website
as far as text and pictures?
- We need you to decide what type of pages you want such as
:
Home, About Us, Links, Web Rings, Sales List, Stallion, and
News pages.
- What color schemes do you like?
- What sites have you seen that you liked? What did you like
about them? What did you dislike?
- What text descriptions do you want on each page?
- We will need either digital photographs emailed to us, or
you can send us copies of photographs to be scanned in. If
you want the photographs returned you will need to provide
a stamped, insured self-addressed mailer to return them to
you. Where do you want them placed on the page? Do you want
them touched up or cropped? We will optimize them for fast
website loading.
- If you don't specify placement of text and photographs,
we will use our best judgment of what looks professional.
You have 30 days from the start of work to make any minor
changes without charge.
- We will need good copies of any logos and pictures you want
to use. Please do not send us extremely compressed photo files.
Further manipulation of these type of pictures usually result
in poor quality results. Please send us your "Sunday
Best" photographs. You wouldn't want to entertain potential
clients of your Million dollar stallion when the barn is a
mess and he has had a good roll in the mud. These pictures
will be potentially viewed by thousands of people who are
your potential customer. You only have one chance to make
a good impression! A bad one take a very long time to forget
and can cost you potential clients.
- Please do not send us Real Player movie files or very poor
quality digital or VHS movies, they are hard to work with
and usually will not present the type of professional image
you are wanting to portray to a potential customer. We cannot
make a fuzzy image clear.
- Please do not ask us to put all sorts of comic strip animated
characters, gaudy color combinations, mismatched font styles
and font size so large when viewed by the average monitor
setting of 800x600 can be read from across the room, excess
number of photos that cause your home page to take the average
dialup modem user 10 minutes to load (viewers won't wait)
- this will not help you sell your $10,000+ horse. There is
a reason that those beautiful breed magazine ads look professional.
A professional image conveys you care about quality. Cute
"Pink Flamingos" conveys the "garage sale"
image and you will only attract bargain shoppers.
- Finally, you will need to get us the account information
from your web hoster on how to login to your website. We will
need this before we can publish your pages to your website.
If your domain name has not been configured to point your
domain name to your web hosting account, we will need information
from both parties to get them or allow us to make the necessary
DNS pointer changes.
- Do you only do Equine sites and Video?
We do all sorts of G rated websites and videos for families and
businesses. Email or call us to learn more about what we can do
for your business or family website.
Web Maintenance Questions
- Can I edit my own site or have another marketing company alter the website after you create
it?
Yes, you can. It is your site and you own the web hosting
account and domain name. But we will not assume any liability
for problems or for fixing problems after this point in time.
We take this as a job completed to satisfaction which releases
us from any obligation for performing any additional work or maintenance
on the site at the agreed upon web design fee. If payment in full
has not occurred, it is to be received within 10 business days
from the time of the first edit. If we have webmaster links to
us on your site, we will need to have them converted to route
questions to you.
If you would like the ability to add photographs to a photo album
,we can setup a Free Bravenet photo album that allows you to add/remove
pictures as is needed.
We can also setup software that will allow you to dynamically
create your own pages and upload pictures - such as in a News
or Special Events - Sale Pages, etc. through an internet interface.
Some training is involved in using this software.
- What if I change my mind about how I want
my site to look, how many and what kind of changes can I get without
incurring additional fees?
We will provide a preliminary web page template for you to
review and approve before we start building all of the dependent
pages. This is the time to specify changes in colors, buttons,
layouts and menus. After the first template is built and rolled
out to the other pages, simple changes in text content and picture
swap outs are allowed for up to 30 days from the start of build
without incurring additional charges. This would not include special
effect enhancements of photographs to be swapped in or if the
page template format is changed. Additional work will be billed
at the current hourly rate per hour or the charge for a new page
build.
- Can I have you add new pages after the
site is built?
Yes. Additional pages can be added at a future date. Check
our rates page for current pricing.
- Can I add a Free feature after the 30 day
grace period?
Yes. We will charge you for the time worked at the current
hourly rate per hour.. Most of these type of free features take
around 5-15 minutes to do. You can use your website package's
monthly maintenance to go towards this.
Adding Movies to an Existing Website Questions
- I have my own website and I know how to
edit my webpages or I have a web designer who can do it for me,
can you convert my VHS tapes of my sale horses and create movies
for them so I can add them to my site?Yes. Each sale horse
video will come with a short action clip and a longer playing
movie file. The files are Flash movie files that can be easily
played embedded in a webpage with HTML code we can supply you.
Please see the rates page for pricing. A CDROM with all
of the movie files and sample HTML pages will be returned with
your VHS tape so that you can make your webpage changes.
- I have my own website and I don't know
how to edit my webpages, can you convert my VHS tapes of my sale
horses and create movies for them and help me add them to my site?Yes.
Inaddition to the information noted above, we can in most cases
assist you with adding the movies to your site. If you are using
a Free Web Hoster they may not allow movie files. In this case,
we can host the movie files for you and help to add the HTML to
your Free site that will make it appear as if it displaying from
your website pages. There is a small yearly charge for hosting
your movie files. Please email for more details.
Payment Questions
- When
do I pay?
1/2
of the website's estimated charge is due before work starts. 1/2
is due when the site is published with your pages on your Internet
host. Any remaining charges due to enhancements are due within
20 business days after publishing the changes to your website.A
10% monthly fee is accrued on the balance starting the 20th business
day after publishing the changes.
Video Ads must be paid inadvance. Discount rates apply for quantity
online video ads. Please see the rates page for more detail.
- What type of payments do you take?
We take US funds only. Credit Cards through PayPal, Cashiers
Check, Money Orders and US Bank Personal Checks are accepted.
We wait til the check clears before starting work. Returned (bad)
checks are charged a $50 processing and late fee. Click
here to make a Payment using PayPal, Mastercard , Visa, American
Express, Discover or Echeck. Note - you do not have to have
a PayPal account to use your credit cards to pay us through our
PayPal interface.
