MARGIN IN LIFE IS ABOUT CREATING SPACE FOR THINGS – We all agree that we cannot add 24 hours of God-given time to one day. Yet we all agree that we are capable of creating space for all the things we feel are important. Why? Because basically there is no term “no time”. We will make space and time for things that matter and important in our life.

In the past… I thought being busy was the only way to success and being able to quickly achieve my dreams. Every time a friend asks how is it, my first answer is “I’m busy, here!” Often I give answers like that make me realize why the word busy has become very deified by humans today. Departing from this curiosity, I ended up doing a simple social experiment and asked the question “How are you?” to friends and colleagues of various ages, career fields, socioeconomic backgrounds, geographies and perspectives. Almost all answered they were busy with various variations on how busy they were. Almost all of them express their busyness with frustrated expressions and complain that they can’t do hobbies, hang out and other fun things. I also pay attention to the social media journeys of friends that I make the object of experimentation. Almost all of them document their busy lives when they are in a meeting, getting ready for work and their overall daily life through Instagram Stories. They show how busy they are. What can I conclude from this simple social experiment?

Being busy and not having time is a choice.

Everything in life is based on choices. Choosing to be busy and not creating space for other things is a choice. If so, why does the choice to be busy frustrate and stress us out? Why is it that often when we are too busy, we blame circumstances and situations? Busyness is man-made. Us, human, created that.
